Welcome to Chatter from the Pressbox

The Frisco RoughRiders have been in existence since 2003 as the Double-A minor league team for the Texas Rangers. Through the past eight years North Texas has witnessed players like Ian Kinsler, Neftali Feliz, Elvis Andrus, Adrian Gonzalez, John Danks, Edinson Volquez, and many more come through the Texas Rangers system that have gone onto have success in the major leagues. Through it all the Rider's pressbox has been there to get the latest information to fans of the Frisco Roughriders and Texas Rangers. It wasn't always easy to do, but with technology advancing the RoughRiders have been able to get that information quicker and more efficiently to fans all across the nation. The addition of online gameday to the minor leagues has made that much easier.

Now, we hope to give fans not only that information, but also an inside into what working in the pressbox as an online gameday operator, official scorer, scoreboard operator, and statistician is like during games. We all know that baseball at times can be a slow game. There are breaks in between innings and in between action that must be filled. So with that, we will bring you the cool, entertaining, and sometimes very weird stuff that happens in the pressbox. And while all of that goes on, of course there is something called baseball happening and in the pressbox that means finding out what records players are close to achieving, what their stats are for the season, how the play will be scored, how fast the 10,000+ fans in the stadium will be able to see whether it was a hit or an error, and how quickly the 100 million people nation wide will be able to see what their favorite Frisco Roughrider will do next. So come along for the ride, and when you get the chance, come out to Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, TX to see us.
