Frisco Scores Early, Holds On For Win: It wasn't the easy victory that Frisco seemed to be headed for when they scored 5 runs in the first 3 innings to take a 5-0 lead, but the Riders held on despite the Missions rallying for 5 runs of their own in the 7th and 8th innings. Frisco defeated San Antonio in the game 6-5 thanks to a 6th run in the 6th inning. Frisco is now 5 back of San Antonio in the 2nd half and moved their magic number to 16 as long as the Missions hold onto the second half lead.

Pimentel's Career Best Start: Carlos Pimentel was on about as well as he has been this season and the 21 year old right hander shutdown a San Antonio lineup for 6 innings that has seems to score runs with ease much of the time. Pimentel gave up just 2 hits and 4 walks over 6 shutout innings and set a career high with 9 strikeouts in the victory. For Pimentel, it was only his second win in his last 10 appearances. He moved to 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 6 starts this season against the San Antonio Missions. Only Joe Wieland's 0.56 ERA for Frisco was better among starters with 2 or more starts against San Antonio. Pimentel has 4 "quality starts" in his 6 starts against the Missions as well.

Osuna Reaches Base 4 Times, Ties Murphy: Renny Osuna singled twice in the win by reaching in the 1st on a single to centerfield and in the third on a RBI single to right field where he was thrown out at second trying to advance on the throw. Osuna walked in the 2nd inning and walked again in the 6th inning. He was standing in the on deck circle when Jose Felix grounded out to end the 8th inning, so the quest to become Frisco's all-time hits leader will begin tonight, assuming he's in the lineup. Osuna is facing a team in the San Antonio Missions that he has batted .340 (35 for 103) against this season. Over his career, he is a career .304 (77 for 253) hitter against the San Antonio Missions.

For Osuna it Riders Spreading the RBI: In the 6-5 win on Sunday, there were 5 different Frisco RoughRiders hitters that drove in a run in the game. Osuna, Mendonca, Ruiz, Greene, and Beltre all drove in a run. For Osuna it was his 49th and for Mendonca it was his 79th as the two inched closer to 50 and 80, respectively. Frisco has had only six players in their 9 year team history drive in 80 or more runs and with Osuna getting closer to 50, he would mark the 5th player that Frisco has had over 50. They had 5 with over 50 the previous 2 years combined.
