What to Watch for on the Mound: Frisco and San Antonio send Jake Brigham and Jorge Reyes to the mound for the 9th time this season... Jake Brigham turned in a strong performance last Tuesday during a day game when he gave up just 2 hits and 2 walks over 6 shutout innings and recorded a season best 8 strikeouts in the outing. Brigham has gone at least 6 innings in his last 4 starts and has gone at least 5 innings in all 8 starts this season. He also has given up less hits than innings pitched in 5 consecutive starts this year. Brigham has given up 3 earned runs in 6 of the 8 starts he has made. In the two that he hasn't given up 3 earned runs, he has given up 1 earned run combined. On the season, Brigham has given up 48 hits and 15 walks with 44 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings. In 4 starts in May, Brigham is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA... Jorge Reyes has struggled to go deep into games this season, but he has pitched effectively in most, giving up 2 runs or less in 6 of the 8 starts. In his last outing, Reyes gave up 7 hits and 1 unearned run in 5 innings with 6 strikeouts against Corpus Christi last Tuesday. He has gone 5 or more innings in just 4 of the 8 starts, however. On the season, Reyes has given up 41 hits and 9 walks with 37 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings pitched. He is 1-0 with a 3.57 ERA in 4 starts in May.

Riders Lose Second Straight: Frisco gave up 4 runs in the 8th inning and lost 9-5 on a walkoff grand slam by Missions first baseman Kyle Blanks, who is a career .289 hitter with an .823 OPS against the RoughRiders in 41 career games. They have lost 5 of 6 games on the road to San Antonio.

Martin Perez's Solid Effort: Martin Perez wasn't as sharp as he was on Monday against Midland, but he still gave up just 1 unearned run over 6 innings. Perez allowed 10 baserunners (6 hits, 4 walks), but was able to escape jams with just the one unearned run. He also moved into a tie for 3rd on the all time Frisco strikeout list with 6 strikeouts on the night. Perez needs just 4 strikeouts to tie John Danks for 2nd all time and 5 to pass him.

Leonys Martin Leads Way: Leonys Martin led the Rider's offense with a 3 hit day including a double and he also stole his 5th base in 9 attempts. It was Martin's 3rd multi hit game in 9 games and 7th straight game getting on base. It was also his 6th straight game with at least one stolen base attempt. He singled to center in the 1st, had an infield single to the second baseman in the 3rd, and doubled to left field in the 5th inning showing ability to hit to all fields. In the 9 games that he has been a part of for Frisco, Leonys Martin is batting .429 (6 for 14) when leading off an inning, including .333 (3 for 9) in the 1st inning.

Targeting #35: Jonathan Greene Jonathan Greene once got hit by 36 pitches in a single season, so he is not accustomed to not being hit by pitches. In fact, in his career he has gotten hit by 90 pitches in the minor leagues. Greene got hit again on Saturday for the 7th time this season, including 4 times by San Antonio Missions pitching.

Mendonca Keeps Hitting: For the fifth time in his last 10 games, Tommy Mendonca had 2 hits in a game. He went 2 for 4 with his 9th double of the season, including his 4th in the last 6 games. He also has drawn 4 walks in those 6 games, which has helped improve his walk to strikeout ratio a bit. He had 4 walks in his first 34 games this season and has 4 in those 6 games since. Mendonca also has reached base in 14 consecutive games now.

Burning in May: Davis Stoneburner's  bases loaded, bases clearing double in the 4th inning gave him an 8 game hitting streak and 10 game on base streak. He didn't start, but came in after Engel Beltre left the game after the second inning after being hit by a pitch. Stoneburner is now batting .325 (13 for 40) with a .947 OPS in the month of May. He has 6 extra base hits in the month as well. For the season, 12 of Stoneburner's 26 hits have gone for extra bases.

Last Year on this Date: Frisco defeated the San Antonio Missions 3-2 in 13 innings. Richard Bleier started for Frisco and gave up 8 hits, 1 walk, and 1 run over 6 innings pitched. Adalberto Flores, Ben Snyder, Brennan Garr, and Cody Eppley combined to give up 1 run over the final 7 innings of relief. Wes Bankston led the way with a 3 for 5 game including a double and a walk.
